Water filter jugs

No, the BRITA water filter replacement indicators are provided with a battery inside.

Simply press and hold the start button on the lid until four bars appear on the display and flash twice. Now BRITA MEMO will start the countdown. The flashing dot in the display's bottom right-hand corner indicates BRITA MEMO is working. The number of bars on the display indicates the remaining lifetime of the cartridge in weeks, with one bar disappearing each week.

You should replace your filter cartridge at least every four weeks. That way you'll enjoy optimum performance from your BRITA cartridge.

The Cool version is designed to fit in the fridge door, while XL size provides you with a larger capacity for filtered water.

Yes, most of our jugs are dishwasher-safe up to 50°C. Alternatively, you can wash your BRITA water filter jug by hand using warm, soapy water and a sponge. Please see the instruction manual for more information.

Regularly clean your products by hand using a mild detergent or in the dishwasher (max. 50°C). Disassemble the unit if using a dishwasher.

Before cleaning, remove the BRITA MicroDisc and store it on a clean surface. We recommend placing the BRITA MicroDisc in a clean cup every week and pouring boiling water over it. If the BRITA MicroDisc floats to the surface, hold it down with a spoon. After five minutes soaking, remove it and reinstall it making sure your hands are clean when touching the filter system.

No. BRITA water filter systems are designed for use only with municipally treated tap water or with water from private supplies that has been approved safe to drink.

No, freezing your BRITA water filter bottle may damage parts of the bottle or the BRITA MicroDisc.

Your BRITA water filter bottle is designed for mains treated tap water only. Since it filters while you drink, anything you would add to the water like juices, tea or fruits would be filtered before you drink it. This would influence the taste of the drink and might impair the filter and its hygiene.

Tap filter systems

The lifetime of a A 1000 filter cartridge depends on your individual water consumption. It lasts up to 6 months. Look at the cartridge's status indicator to see when to change your filter cartridge.

BRITA waterbars can be retrofitted to fit most sinks or worktops and require just one standard 35 mm hole. No additional plumbing or holes needed. The filter cartridge is small and does not require much space under the sink. It can be installed horizontally or vertically.

Yes. All BRITA waterbars come with a two-year warranty for material defects and functional errors that can be traced to faults in production or construction. By registering your BRITA product you receive a free warranty extension to a total of three years.

This applies to products currently sold by BRITA only.

Yes. BRITA waterbars are easy to install and instructions are provided with product. For best results, we recommend using a professional plumber.

Yes. It's quick and easy to do. Simply follow these four steps:

  1. Unlock the cartridge using the two blue levers on the sides of cartridge head. No need to turn off your mains water: there is an automatic shut off valve in the cartridge head.
  2. Release the pressure using the flush valve. After doing so, remember to close the valve again.
  3. Pull out the old cartridge and replace with a new one.
  4. Lock the cartridge in place.

ON TAP water filters

The ON TAP water filter can only filter out bacteria if used with the ON TAP V-MF water filter  cartridge. The cartridge filters out 99.99% of all bacteria that are > 0.5 µm.

We recommend cleaning when the water filter cartridge is changed. For this, follow the opposite sequence for the filter system from when it was installed on the dispensing tap.

  • Rinse the housing with unfiltered mains water. Do not use any cleaning agents, thinners or alcohol to clean the surface. Clean the exterior with a sponge moistened with a mild detergent.  Abrasive detergents or chrome polish can damage the surface.
  • Use a clean toothbrush to clean the unfiltered nozzle and rinse away all the impurities under running water. Then wipe with a clean cloth.
  • Do not clean the ON TAP or any of its parts in the dishwasher.

Press the Reset button on the left side of the ON TAP Pro V-MF water filter for a few seconds, in order to reset the display.

The filters can be fitted crosswise and are compatible with the following systems:
ON TAP Pro V-MF and ON TAP HF (earlier versions with a digital display).

The filters are not compatible with ON TAP water filter versions from before 2019.

5 adapters are included in the delivery of the ON TAP water filter, which fit most standard kitchen taps.
2 x adapters for taps with internal female screw heads, 22 mm diameter
1 x adapter for taps with external male screw heads, 23 mm diameter
1 x adapter for taps with external male screw heads, 24 mm diameter
1 x universal adapter for outlet lengths of at least 15 mm and 15 to 25 mm diameter

The battery included as standard (CR 2032) is intended for the digital display and before it is used the sticker on the surface must be removed for it to be activated. We recommend changing the batteries every 12 months.

Yes. The ON TAP water filter is tested and certified under working conditions between 0.7 and 3.5 bar. 0.7 bar is the minimum water pressure for optimal product performance.

No. The ON TAP water filter contains a special ion exchange fleece that filters heavy metals such as lead. Limescale, on the other hand, is not filtered.

It is only possible to filter cold water between 5°C and 23°C. Otherwise the water filter cartridge and/or its various parts could be damaged.

Please call our customer service for information about where to buy the cartridge for the old BRITA On Tap. You can find the phone number below in the footer of the website.

The filter lasts up to 600 litres (approx. 4 months, depending on usage) and can be exchanged in no time. The digital display shows remaining filter capacity.

UVC refers to ultraviolet-C radiation, which is a type of ultraviolet (UV) light.
The C refers to the ultraviolet light with shorter wavelength and higher energy compared to UVA and UVB radiation.

UVC light is known for its germicidal properties, making it effective for disinfection purposes. It can kill or inactivate microorganisms like bacteria and viruses by damaging their DNA or RNA, making it useful in various applications such as water purification, air sterilisation and surface disinfection.

The cap has a built-in sensor for hydration tracking. After filling the bottle and screwing on the cap, place the bottle on a flat table. The cap will glow a white light indicating that a measurement has been taken; this can take up to 5 seconds after placing it on the table.
Hydration tracking works best with cold or room-temperature liquids. Hot liquids will fog up the sensors and tracking will not be accurate.

The following points ensure and show you that hydration tracking is being performed on your BRITA LARQ iQ Bottle:

The LED ring lights up to indicate that a measurement has been taken.
Your bottle must be placed on a flat surface for approx. 2-5 seconds after each measurement, after filling and drinking. The lid must be closed.
Opening and closing the lid triggers a measurement.
If your drink amount is too little, you will need to drink several times. Once a minimum amount has been reached, everything is transferred to your hydration dashboard.

Hydration tracking works best with cold or room-temperature liquids. Hot liquids will fog up the sensors and tracking will not be accurate.

Users can request deletion of their myBRITA account via the app profile section by selecting “Delete account”.
Because deletion is handled externally, the app itself does not process or store any user data related to the deletion request.
To complete the account deletion, users must send an email to:
appdatapolicy@brita.net

Do NOT connect your smartphone and the bottle cap via iOS Bluetooth. The app will search for the bottle and connect automatically.
Make sure your bottle is the ONLY unconnected active BRITA LARQ iQ bottle within range. At this point, the app does not know which bottle is yours and will connect to the first bottle it detects. Once your account is connected to a bottle, the app will always automatically connect to this bottle when the app is opened and the bottle is within range.
The app remains connected to the bottle even in the background. If you want to disconnect, close the app.
Each bottle can only be connected to one device / one app at a time.
The bottle can be identified in Bluetooth devices by the name format LARQ_xxxxxxxx (e.g. LARQ_IDiZS0u7EUu).
